PACKING LIST
Camp is providing shelter, beds, firewood, cooking utensils, restrooms, showers, and basic toiletries (paper towels, toilet paper, etc). We'll provide the food for the weekend.
The only real recommendation that's different from the normal routine is, for cabin-camping: bring a fitted sheet and blanket or sleeping bag for on top of the mattress, a space heater/fan, and an extension cord. Everything else is pretty much status quo.
GEAR
CLOTHING & PERSONAL ITEMS
Clothing:
- Everyone packs a little differently, but for this time of year, layers are key. - Bring something warm, something light, a sweatshirt or light fleece jacket, long pants, short sleeves, extra socks.
- We want you to be comfortable!
- Here's what we tell the kids to pack for Fall Camping trips: long pants/jeans, t-shirts, at least one pair of shorts, underwear/bras, socks (+1 for extra), sweatshirt, extra pair of shoes.
The Gamble (aka "What will the weather do this week?"):
- Warm hat
- Gloves/mittens/scarf
- Wool socks
- Sunhat
- Bathing suit
- Personal mini-fan
- Because October in Maryland
Footwear:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Extra pair of shoes (hiking boots if you plan on exploring, or another comfortable pair for around the campsite)... we're not Broad Creek, crocs are fine! Lol.
Toiletries:
- Towel
- Toothbrush/Toothpaste
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Soap or Body Wash
- Deodorant
- Brush or Comb
- Baby wipes (also optional but so useful)
- Any other personal hygiene items
Other Stuff:
- Headlamp
- Sunscreen
- Bugspray
- Tylenol/Ibuprofen
Don't Forget:
- Extra socks!
Wedding Attire:
Dressy casual is a good bet! Think comfortable but presentable. Honestly, we have no idea what to wear to a "camp wedding," so we're not going to judge if you show up in your crocs and a nice dress.
Cabins:
- Fitted sheet/blankets OR Sleeping bag
- Pillow
- Camp pad (optional, but I tend to err on the side of comfort)
- Space heater AND/OR Fan
- Extension cord
- Ear plugs? (I'm semi-joking, but honestly, after camping with Scouters for 10+ years, I'm totally not.)
Tents & Hammocks:
- Tent & Tarp/Footprint
- Hammock/Underquilt
- Rainfly
- Camp pad
- Cot (totally optional)
- Lantern or light of some kind
Don't Forget:
- Reuseable water bottle
- Poncho OR rain gear
- Camp chair
Things You Don't Need:
- Mess Kit
- To stress too much; there's always a Walmart/Target or grocery store somewhere local (even if you sometimes have to cross a ferry to get there...)
